Eugene Junior Duran, Age:65

In loving memory of Eugene Junior Duran 65 of Chicago, IL, passed into heaven on Saturday, August 7, 2021, surrounded by his family at Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Eugene was born February 4, 1956 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Rita J. and Eugene M. Duran. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael F. Duran and sister, Peggy S. Duran.

Eugene had a quiet calmness and avoided conflict. He loved his nephews and nieces and stayed close to the family. He volunteered as a baseball coach and went to wrestling events or football games for his nephews and nieces. He was very supportive of his family members and a devoted Uncle to many. He was an Army veteran who served his country faithfully. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and word search games. He watched old western series and movies and enjoyed wrestling and baseball on TV. He worked hard and was always reliable. He loved joking and bantering with his family. He loved playing games and chase with his great nephews and nieces. We all share many happy times with Eugene. He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends but we know that God will take care of him.

He leaves behind his loving brothers; Lee (Sally) Duran, Ricky Duran, Sisters; Victoria (Dimitrios) Stamatakos and Mary Masters. His nephews; Cecil Thomas, Nicholas (Colleen) Masters, William Masters,Peter (Camille) Stamatakos, Steven (Monique) Stamatakos, Keith Duran, Michael Duran, Joshua Duran, Jesse Duran. His nieces: Christine Stamatakos, Madeline Masters, Kimberly Duran, Michele Duran, Lydia Duran, Jena Duran, as well as many great nephews and nieces. All of whom loved their Uncle Eug very much.

His life will be celebrated and memories shared. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, August 31st at St. Pascal Church 3935 N. Melvina Ave. Chicago, IL 60634, (corner of Irving Park and Melvina) for a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am. Eugene's graveside service will be held on September 4, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Marceline, MO.
