Bruce M. Zagurski, 69, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 with his wife Susan (Capek) by his side. He battled dementia for over 7 years.
Bruce was born January 22, 1952 in Chicago the son of Michael and Alice (Tracz) Zagurski. He grew up in the St. Stanislaus BM Parish and was very proud to serve as an alter server for 6 years.

Bruce met Susan, his wife of over 36 years in Chicago. They married in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico on Valentine’s Day.

Bruce worked for Foot Jones-Illinois Gear as a gear cutting machinist until 2004 when he went to work for the Department of Homeland Security as a TSA officer at O’Hare International Airport. He retired in 2014.

Bruce’s passion was breeding and racing homing pigeons. He was active for over 35 years until the city of Chicago banned the keeping of homing pigeons in 2003. He enjoyed breeding American Singer Canaries and other small cage birds. He was a new car enthusiast for many years. His most recent interests included personal computers and gaming on Xbox.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Susan. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Barbara A. and brother, Joseph.

Per Bruce’s wishes, private services have been held.
