John Francis Kilian Jerger was born on December 17, 1927, in Chicago, IL to Jacob Jerger and Theresia Zahn. He was the beloved brother of the late Marie (Bud) Krueger, Tess Marko, Jake (Maureen) Jerger, Dick (Jean) Jerger, Kilian "Bud" (Marilyn) Jerger and Helene Jerger. John was happily married to Elizabeth "Liz" (nee Schenfeld) for 71 years and leaves behind children: JoAnne (Dan) Smolen, Jean Borgardt, John (Colleen) Jerger; grandchildren: Lisa Rowley, Danielle (Mark) Glazman, Sara (Daniel) White, Julianne (Elliot) Borgardt, Jack and Grace Jerger; great-grandchildren: Bailey and Emma Rowley, Neil and Valerie Glazman; and many loving nieces and nephews.

John joined the Marines in 1946 and served one tour in China. Upon his return, he became a Plant Maintenance Machinist and retired from AB Dick in 1989. In his retirement, he enjoyed watching Chicago sports and spending time at home with his family. He will be greatly missed. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity at 6020 W. Ardmore Ave. Chicago, IL 60646.
