Janet Rae Pica, Age:76

Janet Rae Pica, 76, of Edison Park passed away on April 6, 2022, peacefully with her children by her side.

Janet was born on April 12, 1945, to the late Raymond and Anne (Clarke) Olson in the Lakeview area. Janet attended Blaine Elementry School and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1963.

Janet worked at Lakeview Bank where she met her late husband Michael A. Pica.  The two were married on September 3, 1966, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicago. The couple welcomed their first child Alison Anne on March 7, 1971, and moved to the Edison Park neighborhood. Shortly after moving, they welcomed their son James Raymond (Anglea) born on May 28, 1972.

Janet was a loving and doting Grandmother to 4 Grandchildren, Max (Jordan) IV, Andrew Michael (Jordan), Zachary Michael (Pica), and Emma Katherine (Pica), She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and take them apple picking, to Santa’s Village, Pirates Cove, and too many movies. Janet always loved to attend sports activities, dance recitals, and any special events her grandchildren participated in.

Janet was a caring friend to many. She had an amazing friendship with 7 grammar school friends who loved to go on vacations every year. She loved these trips very much and found a passion for traveling in her later years. Janet could make friends everywhere which was evident with her other group of friends whom she met at her kid's PTA meetings.

Janet loved her home, gardening, shopping, Kohls, and her family very much. She cherished holidays spent with family, family parties, and all of the accomplishments in her children's lives. She was very independent and loved driving and going to new places. She enjoyed her work and all the co-workers who called her Mom.

Visitation will be held at Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral Home located at 6467 N Northwest Hwy, Chicago, IL 60631, on Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 2 PM - 7 PM with a prayer service at 6 PM.
