William Walter Britton, III, Age:89

William W. Britton, III, 89 of Mt. Prospect, IL passed away on July 10, 2022 in Wheeling.  William was born in Chicago, Illinois to William and Jean (Stevens) Britton, Jr. on January 10, 1933.  He is preceded in death by his two sons, William W. Britton, IV and Roger M. (Cindy) Britton; his brother Roger S. Britton; his sister Annamarie Bogatitus and his nephew, Roger D. (Sarah) Britton.

William served as a Private-2 in the Army during the Korean conflict.  He was a very hard worker and worked as a machinist for most of this life.   Bill was a very caring man and was always willing to lend a hand to help someone in need.  He thoroughly enjoyed reading funny cartoons and would always have a joke to tell as he loved to laugh and share funny stories.  His bright blue eyes and full-bodied laugh made him stand out.

His interests included collecting and reading comic books and books especially mysteries, science fiction and military/war novels.  He enjoyed watching TV shows, movies and had a collection of DVDs that he would share with family and friends.  He also took his position very seriously as the Board President of the condo association where he resided.  For many years, he participated in ballroom dancing and would take enjoyment from watching others dance.  At various times throughout his life, he enjoyed having a vegetable garden and tending to his plants.  Many times, he could be found tinkering with little projects or finding ways to make things work.

Bill loved his children and made sure he was always there for them.  He is survived by his daughter Pamela (Frank) Schemonia, his grandchildren, Johnathan Britton, Jeremy (Deanna) Britton and Raven Torres, 4 great grandchildren; his sisters, Barbara Britton (MA) and Laurie Britton (FL); his brother Frank (Harriet) Bogatitus, many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be held at a later date at the family plot located at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, Illinois.

Cousin Princeton , Texas

We are so sad to hear of the death of your mother. Our hearts are with you. Mary and my mom were very close, as your family has always been to us. We have so many good memories of time spent with the Burns family. We are sending our love and prayers. Lori and I tried to log into the funeral, but there is no link. I have messaged the funeral home.
