Gregory G. Connell (Greg) 86, of Glenview, formerly Northfield where he lived for 40 years, died July 18.

He attended New Trier High School and graduated from The Hotchkiss School (Lakeville, Ct.).  He graduated from Colgate University (Hamilton, NY) where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi. He attended Northwestern School of Law. He served in the Illinois Air National Guard. He was employed in the Trust Dept. of the Northern Trust Co. for 19 years, before joining Lane Industries and Lionheart Trust Co. from which he retired as Vice President.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sally Hoelzer Connell, his 5 children, Leslie Hawley (Michael), Mary Berry (Steve), Charles Connell (Amy), Christopher Connell and Mark Connell (Hannah), 6 grandchildren and his sisters, Bobsie Himmelright and Debbie Connell.

Greg and Sally enjoyed vacations in Puerto Vallarta, river cruises, and theater. He was an avid Cubs and Wolves hockey fan. He will be remembered for sharing jokes and stories with friends.
