Mary Bullock, Age:97

Mary Havel Bullock, 97, passed away in the quiet and stillness of the early morning hour of October 29, 2019. Her youngest and only surviving daughter, Genevieve Ristin was by her side as she made her transition into the light of perpetual life.

In addition to her daughter Genevieve, Mary is survived by grandchildren Tony (Amy) Sintes, Patrick (Elise) Sintes, Daniel (Lauren) Ristin, and Stephanie (Alen) Fazlibasic; great grandchildren Connor, Zoe, Riley and Ryan Sintes, Charlotte Sintes, and Natalie and Owen Ristin; sons-in-law Rene Sintes and Randy Klingenberg; sister-in-law Maureen Havel; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rudolph Havel and Anna Marie Kuzel; husband Hubert Bullock; daughter Mary Ann Ward; daughter Barbara Sintes; daughters Diane and Theresa who died in infancy; brothers Rudolph (Marian) Havel, Edward (Mary) Havel, Joseph (Maureen) Havel; sisters Anne (Edward) Lejeck, Mildred (Robert) Campbell, and Genevieve (Arthur) Denz; sister-in-law Gladys (Rudolph) Arnold; and many nephews and one niece.

Mary was born on October 14, 1922 at home in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago.  Since her mother died at a young age Mary quit school to stay home and care for her siblings and assist her father with household responsibilities. She loved to cook and bake Czech dishes (houska was a favorite). She found sustenance and joy with faith, family, home, and hearth. She was quite content with a simple life and loved to reminisce about her old south side neighborhood, Brainerd.

A celebration of Mary’s life is scheduled for Wednesday, November 6, 2019. All are welcome to gather at     9:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church, 5212 W. Agatite, Chicago, 60630. Mass will follow at  10:00 am.

A small chapel service will then be held at St. Adalbert Cemetery, 6800 N. Milwaukee Ave, Niles, 60714.  There will be no procession, as it is an easy ride north down Milwaukee Ave.

Luncheon will be served at White Eagle Restaurant, 6839 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles, 60714, conveniently located across the street from St. Adalbert.
