Lillie Bolton, Age:76

Lillie Bolton was born in Chicago, IL on June 30, 1939 to Gladys Veal. Lillie was the youngest of five children including three lovely sisters, Grace Adorno, Christine Veal-Bursey and Virginia Faber, and one brother, Henry Veal. Lillie married John Wesley Bolton in 1959. Lillie was a loving wife and a devoted mother. She was a tender hearted person who raised her three children, Belinda Bolton-White, Brenda Blackmon and John Wesley Bolton Jr. after the passing of her husband in 1972. She was especially proud of her two grandchildren, Loni Noelle Blackmon and Isaiah Wesley Bolton whom she loved to kiss, hug and buy gifts for! Family meant everything to her. Lillie extended her home and served Thanksgiving dinner to the extended family for many years. This yearly event kept all of her nieces and nephews connected and was a time to fellowship with her love ones. This included her lovely nieces, Cathy White, Luisa Ali, Mary White, Henriette Veal (deceased), Anna Faber, and Virginia Faber. Her handsome nephews include, Albert Boykins, David Veal (deceased), Peter Faber, Mathew Faber as well as a host of great nieces and nephews. She was a loving and caring person who always put others first. Her Christian Faith and zest for life was unstoppable! She was baptized at a young age and loved The Lord with all of her heart. Her determination led her to ensure that nothing was left undone. In 1991 at the age of 53, she went back to college and graduated from Roosevelt University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for over 30 years and served on Church Board of Directors as Secretary. She was an active choir member and served the community in many capacities. Lillie's most recent professional work position was as Payroll Manager at Roosevelt University. She retired in her early sixties and enjoyed exploring life's adventures. She was a passionate gardener. If you enjoy eating fresh tomatoes, green peppers, collard greens and cucumbers, Lillie had fresh vegetables in her garden every summer and spring. Sadly, her earthly journey ended on August 25, 2015. She is an angel who will be truly missed. Lillie blessed everyone she touched. Her positive spirit and compassion was unwavering.

Our deepest sympathy. One of the most difficult things to deal with in life is the death of a loved one, especially your mother. Although Lillie is no longer physically with you, your memories of her are forever in your minds and hearts. There will be days when you remember your mom with deep sadness. However, there will be many more days when your thoughts of her are filled with joy and laughter. Lillie was a beautiful person, inside and out, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. On behalf of my family, we extend our deepest sympathies and pray that your faith will give you comfort and strength to move forward.

Friend from Lexington of Schaumburg Bartlett , Illinois

My mother Joyce Haluta and Lillie became good friends while living at Lexington, sharing meals, playing games and going on the occasional outings. My mother frequently told me that Miss Lillie was the most popular person in the place, and that everyone loved her. It was not hard to see why. Her beautiful smile, infectious laugh , generous spirit and sunny disposition could really brighten up the place. We both fell in love with her. We will truly miss our Miss Lillie I pray we will all meet again someday dear friend. Heaven just got a little bit brighter.
