Frank Calkins passed away on May  9th, 2024, after a long trial with Alzheimer’s disease at 88.  On June 4th a funeral commemorating his life will be held at St. Edmunds Catholic Church at 188 S. Oak Park Ave in Oak Park, Illinois.  Visitation will start at 10 am with a Mass at 11 am.

Frank was the beloved husband of Maurita (nee Cavallini) and father of Edward (Nancy), Maureen (David) Leahy, Janet (Ken) Fuiten, James (Dolores), the late Joseph, Andrew (Wing), the late Philip (late Angela), Frankie (Liz), Sean O’Brien and step father to Michael (Lili) Olbrich and Megan (Barry) Kundert.  His dearly beloved grandchildren include Rick, Kim, Brian, Kevin, Mike, Nicole, Kassie, Joe, Darby, Jim, David, Melody, Crystal, Heather, Ian, Shane, Jack, Matt, Molly, Natalie and Nathan as well as 8 beautiful great grandchildren.

Born to the late Gertrude (nee) Shanley and Robert Calkins, he was the youngest of 11 children: the  late Norine (the late William) Golden, the late Kathleen (the late Richard) Nee, the late Robert (the late Mary), the late Eleanor (the Jack) Hackett, the late Gertrude (the late Jim) Keegan, the late Thomas (the late Audrey), the late Mary Grace (the late George) Cibula, the late John (Louise), the late William ( the late Anna Mae), the late Patrick (the late Kathleen): and he has been the “fun uncle” to his dear nieces and nephews.
