William W. Adams, 95, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 10, 2023.

Bill was born to William and Helen Adams in Cleveland, Ohio on December 9, 1928, the oldest of their two children.  He graduated from St. Ignatius High School, entered the Jesuits and would earn three Master Degrees.

Bill met the Love of his life, Joan Marie Laven while at a picnic.  They would marry and welcome Nancy, Lynn, and Greg before moving o the Chicago area.  They would complete their family when Ted arrived.

Bill worked for Fisher Foods in Ohio, and then Leo Burnett and RC Cola in Chicago.

He enjoyed tennis, bridge, a good cigar, red wine, and Grosch beer but his greatest love was his wife, Joan, and his family.  Bill and Joan would enjoy their retirement in the Starved Rock area.

Bill was the loving husband of the late Joan; beloved father of Lynn (Mike) Benz, Greg, Ted (Alyssa) and the late Nancy; cherished grandpa of Ashley (Kris) Phagen, Eric Adams, Emily (Tim) Holewczynski, Joseph Benz, Molly (Chuck) La Fave, Claire Benz (fiancé, John Holakovsky), Matthew Benz, Jackson Adams, Emmitt Adams, and Archer Adams; Dear great grandfather to Eileen, Charlotte, Maeve, Lila, and William Holewczynski; fond brother of the late Helen (Jim) Porter; caring friend to many.

A Memorial Visitation and Mass has been scheduled by his daughter, Lynn Benz, for Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Catholic Church, 920 Granville Ave. in Park Ridge.  Visitation will begin at 10 am until 11 am.  Memorial Mass will be at 11 am.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life is being planned by Greg and Ted Adams, for after the holidays.  Details for this service will be posted once they’re finalized.
