Michael D. Hundrieser, Age:79

Michael D. Hundrieser, 79, of Chicago IL, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023.

Michael served in the US Army and was a retired Chicago Fire Department Engineer

Michael is survived by his wife, Michelle (nee Jacobs); his five children, Julie Damasky, Tim (Christine) Hundrieser, Kate (Scott) Fabsits, Greg (Mary) Hundrieser, and Daniel Hundrieser; eleven grandchildren, Tyler (Eli), Josh (Emma), Abagail, Cassie, Connor, Carah, Charlotte, Clare, Cameron, Owen and Mikayla; as well as his siblings, John (Trudy), Paul (Christa), Mary Anne (Larry), and sister in laws, Janice, Karen, and Dana; he was brother-in-law and uncle to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules Hundrieser and Anne Hundrieser (nee Collins); son in law, Todd Damasky; grandson, Christopher Fabsits; and his siblings, Donald (Jackie), Pat (Karen), Edwin (Janice), Jimmy, and David (Dana).

Michael was a kind and friendly man who was first to offer his help. He was a saver, one being his collection of screws, nails, nuts, and bolts all in specific jars. He had many different items that helped in his solutions to repair things, a true "Rube Goldberg". He spent hours in his garage workshop with WGN talk radio keeping him informed. He was a talented artist with a creative mind, even building funny items to make us laugh. He was a loving and true family man who showed up for all of us and left our family with wonderful, fun, and happy memories. He will be cherished and missed always.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16, from 11am-12pm at Olson Burke-Sullivan Funeral & Cremation Center, 6771 N Northwest Hwy, Chicago, IL 60647, with a service to celebrate his life to follow at 12pm.
