Kevin William Zago, Age:45

Kevin was born on New Year's Eve, 1977 to Sharon and John Zago in Chicago, the second of their three children.  He was raised with his brother and sister in the Norwood Park neighborhood.  He graduated from Immaculate Concepcion and Notre Dame High School.
His love of cars began at the early age of four when he started racing quarter midgets with his family.  Before he was ten he was racing in the Soviet Union on a sports exchange.
Kevin was a natural ‘go-getter’.  He started his own business, lawn mowing, when he was 8.  He sold the “World’s Finest Chocolate” to win the Grand Prize bike.  When it didn’t arrive, the company had to explain that they were unprepared as no one had ever sold that many.  When his sister wanted a special doll in a raffle, he was not going to let her down.  He entered enough to win her that doll.
Kevin took his love of autos into a profession becoming an excellent salesperson.  On his first day, a rainy, cold and inhospitable day, it was a day no one expected to make any sales.  He sold five cars by the end of the day, stunning even the old timers.  He loved working on his house.  While not ‘trained’, it seemed to his Mom that he was a natural handyman.  Of course, he was always Mom’s favorite.

Kevin’s greatest love and joy was his family.  Especially his sons, Kevin and Keenan, and his only niece, Breanna and nephew, Marc Liam.  Kevin always tried to share his wisdom with them.  If you were in Kevin’s circle, you know you were loved.  He was a positive person who tried to spread his hopes to those he loved.

He was taken too soon.

Kevin is survived by his cherished sons, Kevin and Keenan; his dear siblings, John and Lisa (Marc Martin); loving niece and nephew, Breanna and Marc Liam; and his close friends, Jack and Robert.
A Celebration of Kevin’s Life will be held on Sunday, April 2 at the Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral and Cremation Center, 6471 N. Northwest Hwy. (one block north of Devon) in Chicago from 1 pm until 3 pm.
