Charlene M. Lorenz, "Tootie", 89, passed away on November 25, 2022.

She was born in Chicago, the youngest of Edward and Lillian (nee Miller) Reiche's six children.  She grew up in the Roscoe Village neighborhood attending Lakeview High School and Jones Commercial High School.  She met the love of her life, Chuck while he was the fountain man at their local corner drug store.  They married on August 2, 1952.  They were blessed with two children, Charles and Cheryl while still on the city's northwest side.  In the sixties, they moved to the Portage Park neighborhood.

Tootie was a kind-hearted woman who loved children.  She was known to family and friends as an excellent cook and homemaker.  She was a family orientated person before the term was popular.

Charlene was preceded by her loving husband of 69 years, Charles 'Chuck', her parents and her siblings.  She is survived by her loving children, Charles 'Chuck' and Cheryl (Bruce) Haugh; Cherished "Tootiema" of Kyle (Mandy) and Kara Haugh; Adoring Great Grandmother of Lana and Eva; close and special friend to Laura (late Art) Thompson and a dear cousin and friend to many.

A Celebration of Tootie's Life is being planned for the spring.
