Dorothy Willadee Ferguson, Age:95

Dorothy Willadee “Willie” (Bramlett) Ferguson, 95, died May 1, 2021, in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois at Heartland Home Center. She was cremated and will be interred with her husband in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Galesburg.
Willie was born June 20, 1925 near Maynard, Arkansas, the daughter of Claude Ted and Margaret “Maggie” (Knight) Bramlett. She married Conley Ferguson June 22, 1946 in Pontiac, Livingston County, Illinois. He died May 31, 2001 in Galesburg. Willie and Conley lived most of their married lives in Galesburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Erma Lee (Bramlett) Dawson and her son, Rodney L. Dawson; and daughter and son-in-law, Deborah “Deb” Gail (Ferguson) Dennis and Gary Michael “Mickey” Dennis.
Willie attended Oak Grove, Thirwell, Crosslanes and Cherry Grove Schools, Abingdon High School and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1943. She graduated from Galesburg Cottage Hospital School of Nursing in 1946 as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Cottage Hospital in the Obstetrics Department before her retirement. She also had worked as a nurse at Butler Manufacturing in Galesburg. Willie enjoyed playing bridge in several groups for many years and was artistically talented. She especially enjoyed being with her family and had fond memories of getting together on Friday nights to play card games.
Willie is survived by her brother, Harold Eugene Bramlett, of Moline, Illinois. Willie and Conley were the parents of Ronald Steven “Steve” (Jeannette) Ferguson of Galesburg; Marcia Kay (Virgil) Cox of Virginia, Illinois; the late Deborah “Deb” Gail (“Mickey”) Dennis; Christie Alane (Stephen) Cirone of Peoria, Illinois; and Roger Lee (Ann) Ferguson of Peoria Heights, Illinois. Willie’s grandchildren are Amy M. (Ferguson) Haag, Ellen M. (Ferguson) Aldus, Sean D. (Kelli) Kistler, Joshua A. (Beth) Cox, Justin L.E. (Sibyl) Cox, Nathan J. (Amy) Cox, Cassie G. (Brad) Cirimotich, Chad M. (Becky) Dennis, Alexandra E. Cirone, Zachary A. (Lizemarié) Cirone and Ryan A. Ferguson; 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are Willie's nieces, Lynn A. Royall, Pamela S. Reynolds, Patricia “Patty” L. Janacek, and nephew, Harold E. Bramlett, Jr. and their mother, Carolyn Parker; and sisters-in-law Patricia “Pat” L. (Ferguson) Hornickel and Marjorie “Marge” L. (Ferguson) Loughran.

Memorials may be made to Knox College or Galesburg Public Library.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
