Dorothy “Dodo” Mikos, age 97, of Park Ridge, passed away on January 24, 2017. Soul mate for 55 years to the late Casimir “Casey” Mikos; beloved mother of the late Roger Mikos; loving third youngest child of the late Millis and Henry; dearest sister of the late Millis, Dorthea, Henry, Dorthea, Christian (Emily), Adam (Helen), David (Helen), Frederick, Sophia (Arthur), Herman, and Millis (Clarence and Mel); fond aunt to many nieces and nephews from the Deckert and Mikos families; dear sister-in-law to Mary. She was a living example of commandment number four, honor your father and your mother. Her mother died when she was 22 years old and she took over all the household responsibilities for 9 people for 20 years. During this time she also raised a kind, caring, and intelligent son. Dodo’s friendships always lasted a lifetime and she was loyal. Her hobbies were gardening, reading, cooking “old style” homemade recipes, and caring for a lifetime of pets. She was a supervisor for a food company and worked full time for many years. Private inurnment at Mt. Olive Cemetery with her niece Susan Martin and the pastor present.
