Joanne Lotus Giusti
July 22, 1937-November 10, 2021

Joanne could have had no better name than "Lotus," which symbolizes life and beauty. She reflected kindness, peace and an inner knowing. People confided in her and no one could ever unlock her secrets.

When she was nine, Joanne was the happiest girl to learn she was to be the big sister to twins, Caryn Iola and Caryl Iona. She relished pushing the big, heavy buggy and helping out as she had been the only child of her late parents Lucille and Harold Giusti. Later on her late cousins, Eunice Jorstad (Dittman), and Edwin Jorstad joined the family along with other relatives as time progressed.

Joanne's interests were many including painting, photography, reading, writing, and ballroom dancing. Her primary interest was art which led to a future career in the commercial world. She studied at several schools including The Art Institute and Ray Vogue.

She started out in a small company and eventually applied to GTE (General Telephone and Electronics) which evolved into Verizon. Her position was as a specialist who worked with salesmen and customers to produce art ads for the directories. This job provided her livelihood for forty years. At retirement, she continued to travel, photograph, and paint as she had done throughout her life. Joanne painted portraits, landscapes, and a mural on our living room wall of an island off of Trinidad.

She will always be remembered as the constant, loving protector, shining a quiet light.
