Eugene Paul Koch, Age:79

Eugene “Gene” Paul Koch, born July 14, 1942 of Niles Illinois, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, April 28, 2022.

Gene was born in Chicago to Robert and Viola Koch, he had one brother Robert Nels Koch.  

He was married to the love of his life Roberta Claire on February 10, 1968 and remained married for 54 years.

He is survived by his wife Roberta Claire Koch; children Sarah Renee’ Bauman (Rick), Eugene Paul Koch, Jr. (Carrianne), Zachary Edward Koch (Tina) and Rebecca Kim Koch Jaskot (Ian).  Grandchildren; Annamarie Roberta Lord (Andrew), Arthur Jay Khollman, Hunter Eugene Koch, Hailey Roxanne Koch, Spencer Rayanne Koch, Brad Robert Koch, Skyler Allen Paul Koch, Nicholas George Bahry, Zachary Elias Koch, Emily Katherine Bauman, Heidi Roseanne Koch, Erica Grace Bauman, Lauren Elizabeth Koch.  Great Grandchildren; Angel Marie Khollman, Ariana Renee’ Lord, Isabella Sophia McPherson, Sawyer Ray Koch and Adorn Mae Lord.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Viola Koch, his brother, Robert Nels Koch and his grandson, Brody Trevor Koch.

Gene was an honorable man who proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965.  Gene was stationed in Idaho, Alaska and Guam.  

He spent his working years as a pipe fitter from 1965-1998.  He was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union Local 597-Chicago.  His fellow brothers that preceded him in death are now enjoying his company.

He was actively involved in Scouting.  He was the Scoutmaster for Troop 83 and a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow.  His vigil name meant “Tall Tree”.  While involved in Scouting he had the privilege to help six young men become Eagle Scouts including both his sons.

He was a member of Good News Christian Center, Des Plaines from 1980-2022.

Gene was a fountain of knowledge with great insight and passion for his beliefs and life experiences. Gene enjoyed creating beauty in his home garden for his perfect adoring wife.  He loved a good meal followed by a great cigar and a double shot of Irish whiskey.

A celebration of Gene’s life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
