Illiana Silva, Age:49

Illiana Silva left the physical world unexpectedly on January 21, 2020. She is survived by her son Seth Ablao, mother Ana Silva, brother Daniel Silva and family (Ivette Silva, wife; Jonathan Rock, nephew; and his four children: Yaracelis Silva, niece; Gabriel Silva, nephew; Leilani Casiano, niece; Ray Casiano, nephew) and sister Cristina Pacheco and family (Sigrfedo Pacheco Jr., husband; Kayla Pacheco, niece; Jalen and Glenda Pacheco, nephew and his wife; Ariana Pacheco, niece; Jacob Pacheco, nephew) as well as her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends near and far.

 

Illiana was a beloved friend and mentor to many, including loving ex-husband and Seth’s father, David Ablao.  She was so very loved by her community. As an extremely talented singer, Illiana was a celebrated member of theatre communities The Silhouette players and The Edge of the Wood Theatre. 

 

 Although she departed this earth far too soon, she was able to achieve so much professionally and touched many lives during her accomplished career. Illiana obtained multiple masters degrees: Curriculum from DePaul University, Public Administration, and School Counseling from North Eastern University. She was a National Board certified teacher recipient in primary education and counseling. Illiana  worked at various educational institutions including Alfred Nobel Elementary School, Social Justice High School, Andrew Jackson Language Academy, and most recently, The Bridge International School at the Southeast Asia Center.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, Janaury 25th at Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral & Cremation Center, 6467 N Northwest Hwy Chicago for a Memorial Visitation from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
