Nancy E. Sutton, Age:88

Nancy E. Sutton (nee Koepp), Beloved wife of David Sutton, passed away quietly on December 30th, 2018, succumbing to complications related to Alzheimer’s disease.

Nancy was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 23rd, 1930, loving daughter to the late Walter and Ethel Koepp, dear younger sister to the late Richard Koepp, and cherished twin to the late Neil Koepp.  Nancy was raised on the North side of the city in the Edgewater/Rogers Park areas, which is where she met her first husband, the late Clyde Zuckerman.  Together, they raised four children- three sons, John, Robert, and Mark Zuckerman, and daughter Patricia (Zuckerman) Comstock.

Nancy was the consummate mother, always volunteering to be Room Mother, Den Mother, Girl Scout Leader or organizer of bake sales.  She was an active member of St. Gertrude’s parish, and of the Elks Club Ladies Auxiliary.

After successfully raising her family, Nancy went on to pursue a career, landing a job with the American College of Surgeons, where she planned several conventions yearly.  She remarried, and, along with her second husband, David Sutton, she enjoyed the golden years through travel, dining out, or just reading a book together.  She is survived by Dave.

Nancy was the proud Grandmother of Zach, Nick, Jake, Christian, & Lucas Zuckerman, and Katherine, Ross, and (the late) Grant Comstock.  Also Great Grandmother to Azalea, Ella, and Violet, the loving Aunt of thirteen nieces and nephews, and Great Aunt of many.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Nancy’s life on January 26th, 2019, 3:00 P. M., at The Church of the Atonement, 5749 N. Kenmore Ave., Chicago, IL, 60660.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan, Floor 17, Chicago, IL, 60601.  www.alz.org.
