John Charles Sabbia, Age:67

John Charles Sabbia, M.D. Age 67, passed away November 15, 2018 surrounded by family in his paradise on earth, Florida. John was born in Oak Park, IL on June 6, 1951 to Nicholas and Rose Sabbia. He finished his medical degree at Rush University in 1978. 

John was a caring, compassionate, and well respected doctor for over 40 years in the Chicago area. He founded the North Shore Medical Group, then went on to become Chief Medical Officer of Resurrection Healthcare. He finished his career working on the Lanai as a Physician Advisor at R1 RCM.

Golf was a big part of John's life, where he touched many people with his humor and skill. John is survived by his loving wife Joan (Golden) of 40 years, his three adoring children Nicholas, Gemma Marie, and Norine, his siblings Nicholas (Rosemary), Christine (John), and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. 

A memorial visitation will take place from 4-8pm on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Olson/Burke Sullivan Funeral and Cremation Center located at 6471 N. Northwest Hwy. Chicago, IL 60631, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:30am on Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church at 806 Ridge Ave. Evanston, IL, 60202. My condolences to John and his family as a fellow class of 1969 Fenwick Friar.. I will mention him at our 50 th reunion coming up later this year.. He will be missed very much ! God Bless John and his family..
