Theresa W. Truelove, 76, of Champaign died June 29, 2018 in Hyde Park, Chicago. 

Theresa was born August 11, 1941 in Urbana, daughter of C.M. and Theresa Wilson.  She graduated from Champaign Central High School in 1959 and received a BSN from DePauw University in 1963.  While at DePauw she met her true love, Kenneth E. Truelove, who survives. They were married on May 29th, 1963, in Champaign.  

Theresa was a lifelong public health professional with a passion for awareness and education relating to diabetes, infant and maternal care, and HIV/AIDS.  She finished her career at the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District and previously worked as a nurse at Carle Home Care.  An astute observer of politics and society, she did not hesitate to express her views and make her opinions known. She was renowned among her family and friends for her baking skills, and her Christmas rolls were highly anticipated by households throughout the Midwest.

She is also survived by her two daughters: Elizabeth Truelove McDermott of Chicago, and her husband, Edward McDermott; Rebecca Truelove of New York and her husband, John O’Sullivan and their son, Bartholomew; and a brother, Chas Wilson of Sugar Land, Texas, and his wife, Patti Wilson, and their two daughters.  

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 20th at 2pm at Montgomery Place, 5550 S. Shore Drive, Chicago, Illinois with the Chaplain, The Reverend Laura Gottardi-Littell officiating.  A Eucharistic celebration will be held at 3 pm on Friday, August 17, at the Chapel of St. John the Divine, 1011 South Wright Street, Champaign, Illinois.  The Reverend Rebecca Crummey, family friend and vicar from St. Peter and St. Mary Church in Denver, Colorado, will be the celebrant.  Open houses will follow both services. Burial will be at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Loda, Illinois.
