Violette Laura Angell, age 93, passed away in Schaumburg, IL on Friday, August 18, 2017. She was born on May 7, 1924 in Chicago at Swedish Covenant Hospital to Emma Olga and Jason Marmaduke Zander. Violette attended Thorpe Elementary School, Foreman High School, and the Illinois Banking Institute in Chicago. Upon completion, she worked at the City National Bank in Chicago for seven years and before retiring in 1990 she worked for fourteen years at the First State Bank in Park Ridge. Violette meet Charles Henry Angell of Providence, Rhode Island, in Chicago while on leave from the Navy in 1942. On September 25, 1948, they were married at Nebo Lutheran Church in Chicago. They were married for 27 years and had two daughters. Violette enjoyed music including playing the flute, traveling, bowling, playing cards, needle point and crafts. She was an active member of the Edison Park Lutheran Church Women’s Guild, Thomas Edison School PTO officer, member of the Des Plaines Ladies Elk’s, and of the VFW in Park Ridge. Violette was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Violette was the happiest in watching her grandchildren grow-up and participate in attending all their activities, achievements and special events. Violette enjoyed cooking her special dishes for the family which they have grown to love and treasure. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Bilodeau (Charles) and Bette Pagett (William). Beloved grandmother to Allen Pagett (Sarah), Cari Madej (Robert), Kadie Uretz (Justin) and Neil Pagett (Maggie). Fond great grandmother of Ryan Pagett, Lorelei Pagett, Alexis LuGrain, Scarlett Pagett, Waylon Pagett, Auden Madej, Conway Pagett, Shelby Pagett, Avery Madej and Easton Uretz. Funeral service Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Edison Park Lutheran Church, 6626 N. Oliphant, Chicago, IL 60631.
