Daniel J. Lorden Sr., 97, of Evanston, passed away on June 24 at St. Andrews Life Center in Niles. He was born in Chicago and grew up in Evanston, where he continued to live and raise his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force 3rd Emergency Rescue Squadron during WWII. He was a Captain with the Evanston Fire Department. Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Helen (nee Nugent), his devoted sons Daniel Jr. (Mary Jo) and Michael (Kathleen), his loving grandchildren Ann, Karen and Zachary, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Grace Schmitz of Wilmette and Frances Taylor of Kansas City, Mo. and his brother Raymond of Frankfort, Il. Visitation with the family will be at 10 A.M. on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at St. Andrews Life Center Chapel, 7000 Newark, Niles, Il. This will be followed by a brief memorial service at 11 A.M.
