Camille Jadwiga Altay (nee Placzek), 86, opera aficionado and former assistant at Evantson Public Library, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family on December 29, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Sakip "Skip" Altay; devoted mother of Erol (Teri Zupanc) Altay, Dr. Karen (Dr. Paul Rosenberg) Altay, Derin (Paul) Altay-Gemignani, Denise (Sean Collinsworth) Altay, Kenan Altay, Camille (Christopher) Carr and Rengin (Miles Harvey) Altay; proud grandmother of ten; sister of Helen (the late Bruno) Kosinski and the late Florian (the late Eleanore) Placzek; daughter of the late Edmund Eugene Placzek and Helen Rose Placzek (nee Remiszewski). A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 25 at 10 am at Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral & Cremation Center, 6467-77 N. Northwest Hwy, (one block north of Devon Ave), Chicago, IL 60631.
