(the late Dr. Mona, nee El Khatib); grandfather of Andrew and Phillip Byers and Richard and Suzanne Vachula; brother-in-law of Barbara (Ron) Pontius; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Member of the City of Chicago Board of Education and Carpenters Union 181.
