Andrew Richard Madsen, age 63, slipped peacefully from life, after suffering a stroke, at Resurrection Hospital in Norwood Park, Chicago, IL on March 20, 2014. Andrew was born on April 27th, 1950 at Ravenswood Hospital, Chicago, IL. He graduated from Taft High School in 1969. Besides serving in the United States Army, Andrew also worked at Jewel, as an auditor for local security firms, Orkin Pest Control and Kiwi Coders. Andrew resided his whole life in and Norwood Park, Chicago. Andrew enjoyed model trains, building model soldiers and collected John Wayne paraphernalia. Andrew is survived by his brother, Paul Madsen of Norwood Park, Chicago, IL and dog, Brandy. Andrew is preceded in death by his parents, Knud Madsen (b. 1911 – d. 1996) and Beth (McCleary) Madsen (b. 1913 – d. 1999) who were married on October 12, 1940 and made their home in Norwood Park. A Service in Celebration of Andrew's Life will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:30AM at Friendship Presbyterian Church at 6088 N. Northwest Hwy. (located in the Norwood Park Metra Station, Chicago, IL). A light luncheon will follow the service. The service will be officiated by Rev. Shawna Bowman and Andrew's ashes will be scattered at Union Ridge Cemetery at Andrew's parent's gravesite following the luncheon.
